I'm with you sojourner. I was very
troubled by our President's apparent condoning of Islam. I understand
he's trying to be everyone's president and be respectful to another
religion-- Islam. Especially when Americans are lashing out at Muslims
in a big way right now.
However, I just can't be at peace about these statements he made. I feel
he's not fully appreciating who his enemy is: not only the terrorists,
but the teachings of Islam.
Am I gonna get a spanking for saying this?
"Its teachings are good and peaceful, and those who commit evil in
the name of Allah blaspheme the name of Allah. The terrorists are
traitors to their own faith, trying, in effect, to hijack Islam itself.
"
It is simply not true. Islam's teachings are not good nor are they
peaceful. Muslims who die without Jesus will be lost forever.
I deeply respect and love my President and I am not criticizing him, but
I am very concerned about sugar coating an eternal decision a person
makes in regard to his religion for the sake of diplomacy or battle
strategy.
His next phrase doesn't ring true either when you do any depth of study
into the Koran and teachings of Islam which I have been doing.
"...those who commit evil in the name of Allah blapheme the name of
Allah."
From what I can tell, those who commit evil in the name of Allah, gives
glory and praises to Allah and pleases Allah because Allah commands evil
be committed in his name.
"The terrorists are traitors to their own faith, trying, in effect,
to hijack Islam itself."
The Koran's main theme is terror to and making war with infidels. To me
Bin Laden did what Allah expected him to do and in fact not a traitor to
Islam, but a loyalist to Islam by making war with infidels.
It's just my opinion. Tell me I'm wrong. Tell me it's okay to tell
Muslims their religion is good and peaceful. I think the evidence
demonstrates their religion will send them to hell.
It would have set better had our President left those statements out.
Not just to satisfy this fundamentalist conservative, but because it was
misleading to all. And I believe he thinks Islam is a harmless works
based religion.
See what I mean? If we are going to win a long drawn out war on Islamic
terrorism, how can do this if our battle cry is:
"Its teachings are good and peaceful, and those who commit evil in
the name of Allah blaspheme the name of Allah."
I love my President Bush so much. I think he's the cutest and sweetest
man, I just want to tweek his cheeks!!
But I'm very concerned about his lax attitude because it's a major
spiritual war going on and we must keep our loins girded with the Belt
of Truth, along with the other Armor of God! President Bush can say
whatever is strategic but he's got to know the truth in his heart or he
will be deceived. Amen? |
