Psalms 118:6The LORD is on my side; I
will not fear: what can man do unto me?
Proverbs 3:25
Be not afraid of sudden fear, neither of the desolation of the wicked, when it cometh.
Matthew 10:28

fear him which is able to destroy both soul and body in hell.
Luke 12:5
But I will forewarn you whom ye shall fear: Fear him, which after he hath killed hath
power to cast into hell; yea, I say unto you, Fear him.
God will provide for you.
Matthew 10:31

Luke 12:7
But even the very hairs of your head are all numbered. Fear not therefore: ye are of
more value than many sparrows.
Luke 12:32
Fear not, little flock; for it is your Father's good pleasure to give you the kingdom.
I was in a meeting that was interrupted by a hysterical secretary. In her obvious
manner and tone, she looked at me and said, "You have to meet your wife at the
hospital, something is wrong with your baby!" All eyes were on me as I calmly got up
and left the room. I fell apart as soon as I got in the car. My child was barely 4 days
old!
On the way to the hospital I prayed. I was afraid that I was going to loose my child. I
fearfully gave this to the Lord. If you knew how much I like to stay in control of my
surroundings, this was a difficult thing to do. I fearfully gave the life of my child over
to God. I told God that I loved that child but I would accept any outcome that He willed.
It was at this point that I believe that Our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ healed that
child, for I experienced a peace that surpassed all understanding at that moment.
Luke 1:50
And his mercy is on them that fear him from generation to generation.
Psalms 103:11
For as the heaven is high above the earth, so great is his mercy toward them that fear
him.
Psalms 103:13
Like as a father pitieth his children, so the LORD pitieth them that fear him.
Psalms 115:11
Ye that fear the LORD, trust in the LORD: he is their help and their shield.
Psalms 115:13
He will bless them that fear the LORD, both small and great.
Through that event I also realized how little control of my surroundings I really had!
This event was a catalyst that pushed me to walk closer with the Lord.
I have often wondered, "Where is the wisdom in fear?" Fear is what drove me
to realize that I have very little control of my surroundings. Fear is what drove me to
place my confidence in the Lord. As a side note, God is in control all the time, it is
when we place our confidence in Him that our eyes are opened! So placing my confidence in
the Lord opened my eyes to my surroundings. I was then able (with some work on my part) to
see where God is working around me. Knowing this, one is able to now ask God how they can
be used to further His work. If this is not wisdom, then I do not know what is. Believe me
this is not an easy task and I mess up often, but I can definitely see that fear of the
Lord is wisdom.
Proverbs 1:7
The fear of the LORD is the beginning of knowledge: but fools despise wisdom and
instruction.
Proverbs 14:26
In the fear of the LORD is strong confidence: and his children shall have a place of
refuge.
There is so much more that the Bible says on fear and situations, I felt lead to touch
upon these topics. One can spend a lifetime reading and learning about what the Bible says
about fear. It is my choice to fear and trust in the Lord. Jesus is my salvation. What is
your choice?
Romans 8:15
For ye have not received the spirit of bondage again to fear; but ye have received the
Spirit of adoption, whereby we cry, Abba, Father.
II Corinthians 7:1
Having therefore these promises, dearly beloved, let us cleanse ourselves from all
filthiness of the flesh and spirit, perfecting holiness in the fear of God.
Proverbs 19:23
The fear of the LORD tendeth to life: and he that hath it shall abide satisfied; he
shall not be visited with evil.
